Come see Jenny at the Intelligent Speech Conference!

We’re psyched to announce that our own Jenny Williamson will be speaking at the Intelligent Speech Conference on June 29 in New York City! She’ll be delivering a presentation on the vampire myth and its connection to plague in ancient communities–snappy title coming soon. We talked about this in one of our episodes: Ancient Vampires: They Only Knock Once.

She’ll be appearing with presenters including Mike Duncan of History of Rome and RevolutionsKevin Stroud from The History of English, Christine Caccipuoti of Footnoting History, and Ryan Stitt from History of Ancient Greece.

Jenny’s also speaking on two panels: one about geography in ancient-world storytelling with David Crowther of The History of EnglandRoifield Brown of How Jamaica Conquered the World, and Ben Jacobs from Wittenberg to Westphaliaand a second one about classics podcasting with Ryan Stitt from History of Ancient Greece.

So in addition to producing, editing, and writing the tail end of the Julius Caesar saga, Jenny is getting her presentation ready for the Intelligent Speech Conference (and Genn is helping her from afar, because Jenny is useless with PowerPoint).
