Thanks for joining us on that wild chariot ride! We will seriously never stop hearing Genn’s Warp Spasm Voice in our heads. It narrates our every thought.

Here’s a gif of Genn swimming through the shiny things in the Twinkling Hoard.

Here’s some people playing hurling:

And here are some salmon, demonstrating the Hero’s Salmon Leap:

We used the Thomas Kinsella translation of the Táin.

We picked up some extra info from ancient sources:

Diodorus’ Library of History (C.H. Oldfather translation)

Polybius’ Histories (H.J. Edwards translation)

Jenny also loves this retelling of The Hound of Ulster by Rosemary Sutcliffe.

Also! These came out before we published this episode, but long after we wrote and recorded it–Stuff to Blow Your Mind did an episode on the Gae Bolga–and Myths and Legends did three episodes on Cuchulainn and his exploits: The Hound, You Wouldn’t Like Me When I’m Angry, and Evitable.

If you ever get the chance, you should try to get a hold of Red Branch by Morgan Llewellyn. It’s a novel based on this story and is amazing, just make sure to have some tissue handy.
